Our Board

Board Members are elected at our assembly, every three years. They serve a six-year term.

We exist to help dismantle white supremacy and end racism in the Church by working together with all of the ELCA Ethnic Associations.

BECOME A PARTNER.

When we talk about transformation, we see it as an invitation to tap into the ability to move from wherever you are toward being an antiracist. Theologically, we are inviting you to have your heart broken open by Christ to move forward on the journey toward antiracism.

If this is you or you’re still discerning, we want to invite you to become a member of the association. Or, as we call it, a partner. Because this is a journey, and whether you are just beginning or have been on the slow road for a while, we want to be there with you.

This Association was formerly known as the European Descent Lutheran Association for Racial Justice (EDLARJ). We voted at our March 2024 Triennial Gathering to change our name to the ELCA Association of White Lutherans for Racial Justice

to better reflect our identity as white Lutherans

moving toward racial justice.

The logo for the ELCA Association of White Lutherans for Racial Justice includes words and a heart logo with a flame inside the heart with the coloring of different skintones.
